DUTCH OVEN DIN DIN

A few weeks ago was UVU's spring break, which means Amy and Joe didn't have school! We had planned to do some fun things during the week!! And on Thursday night we were going to have a dutch oven dinner. Some of us had had a meeting that afternoon, and it lasted three hours so we were totally ready for some sup!!! Sam (our trusty scout) built us a great fire! And Sarah (our dutch oven beauty queen) put the charcoal on our chicken, potatoes, and delicious cobbler!! Cory and Megan came with the kids!! We had a blast!!!

Drayke begging!!

Yummy!!!!

Ha Ha what a great action shot!!!

It was the first of many dutch oven dinners!!
Summer is really on it's way!!

Drayke had a great time eating marshmallows, rolling down the hill, and chasing the goats!!

Tanning

First off, who doesn't want to be tan? The answer to that one is nobody!! We are all trying for that little bit of added color, that makes your skin have that sheen that we all love! Well in the summer it is so easy to have you'r hide the color of leather, what with all the haying and work outside,  and not to mention Lake Powell!  But in the winter......... it's a completely different matter!! We are all white as snow, and just as cold! So if you had a greenhouse wouldn't you use it the best way you knew?!
So on a sunny, and kind of warm afternoon (while are parents were in mexico) we did just that!! It was a whole group of us that decided we were tired of being so white. So....... we put on the old bathing suit  lathered up with coconut  oil, and headed to the greenhouse!!

As you can see it was still under  some construction!!

We were laying on boards, so it wasn't even comfortable!

After we were all done "tanning" we went in to examine what color we had gotten! As you might have guessed we were the exact same color we were when we had started just a little greasier!! But it was fun!!! And we have some great pictures!!
(All of the pictures you see were taken by Sarah on her iphone)

The Beginning

Home sweet home

I think to begin  this blog i need to explain how we got the idea to start farm fool's! It was on a cloudy but beautiful morning, we were out by the new milk barn ( by we, i mean Joe, Amy, Mary, John, Brady, and Me). Us girls were just walking in after milking and stopped to talk to the boy's, who were working on the milk barn. We were chatting when Amy suggested Mary and i showed the boy's the thing we had made up the previous afternoon after milking. So Mary commenced to demonstrate, she started by taking the very full pail of fresh warm milk, and started to swing it back and forth by her side like a pendulum, until she got enough momentum to swing it around in a full circle above her head. She was able to do five in a row!! It was quite a spectacle to see Mary so graceful and charming in a muddy work jump suit swinging pails of milk around!! So naturally we all laughed, we couldn't help it!! After she was done, i showed the high record which i hold to this day, of twenty five swings in a row! After that we all decided that we needed to make a blog or website were we would post all the crazy things we learn or do, like Joe knowing how to put a chicken to sleep!! We filmed that one!:)

As we were brain storming a name for this amazing idea, someone said: 'what about farm fool's'. Well that was that we were destined to become farm fool's!!!!! So enjoy as we cover all aspects of farming and country life!!!!
